What's On
MCC Women's Retreat at Myuna Bay Sport & Recreation Centre, Dora Creek

This year's Retreat at Myuna Bay was one of the best yet! A group of 18 women and 5 children descended on the beautiful Myuna Bay and set up house for a long-weekend from Friday to Sunday. The lodge included a huge dining and lounge area, an industrial kitchen and 10 bedrooms which all included ensuites.
The atmosphere was filled with anticipation, excitement, challenge and the delightful sound of children.

Our weekend was orchestrated and guided by our Reverend Shelagh and Clare who, as usual, designed a program which gave us the opportunity to look deeply within, bring out the pain, and let it go! What a relief!
Led by Sarah on the guitar we sang through the songbook into the late hours of the night singing praises to God as well as telling stories of our journeys.

Throughout the day we were spoilt rotten by Flo's cooking and fantastic meal preparations. In between meals we sang, prayed, discussed issues, wandered off for quite meditation and contemplation and generally built a strong sense of safety and community.

With Clare's flair for creativity we couldn't escape paste and paint for long. By the end of the Retreat we had produced a beautiful mosaic together, painted our feet, painted each others feet and then created our own masterpieces of creativity!

Eileen entertained us with her amazing belly-dancing skills and then Julie put us through pain and suffering with some “beauty treatment”. How do we look?? Hey? The next morning Eileen led us through a beautiful seated Quigong session she calls, “sitting Jesus”. How lucky are we?

During any breaks there was always time for a game of indoor cricket or badminton, tennis or meandering along the lake shore. All of this was of course, captured on camera by Cecil B. de Mille, (alias Lee). No-one was safe from the digital click… especially at birthday-time as Chris and Julie discovered!
Overall, it was a weekend that we didn't want to see come to an end. We had laughed, cried, prayed, sung, played and created. We were refreshed, spiritually sustained and uplifted and banded together as women and as MCC members and friends.
Thank you so much to Shelagh and Clare and to everyone who attended, contributed and participated.
Blessings - Lee
